Electrical Technician Job Description

Hours: varies

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented electrical Technician to install, maintain and repair electrical systems. The Technician will be skilled incleaning, trouble shooting, repairing and installing systems. You will guide and advise the customer and document system info for historical purposes. You will be responsible for air quality systems from installation to end-of-life by performing maintenance, warranty and emergency repairs.

To be successful in this role, safety, customer satisfaction and comfort should be your top priority. Ideal candidates be patient and have excellent communication, organizational and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment
  • Identifying maintenance risks on equipment
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for electrical systems
  • Cleaning, trouble shooting and repairing systems
  • Performing warranty services
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training
  • Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements
  • Assisting with customers' queries

  • 1+ year experience as an electrical technician, and willingness to continue education in electrical field
  • Valid driver's license

  • Proficient in trouble shooting in line with electrical protocols
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice
  • Ability to work in confined spaces

Desirable:

  • Journeyman/Master electrical license
  • EPA refrigerant card

  • Able to trouble shoot issues (air flow, electrical, low voltage, etc.)

  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Universal Refrigerant certification or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Journeyman/Master HVAC license
  • Gas fitter license
